XTX20L-BS

Xtreme Volts XTX20L-BS is a direct replacement for and Yuasa YTX20L-BS battery supplied with your vehicle. It may also be used as a sealed maintenance free alternative to the YB16CL-B.  The XTX20L-BS measures 6.875" wide x 3.4375" deep x 6.125" high.  When viewing the battery with the terminals on the side of the battery closest to you the positive terminal is on the right side and the negative terminal is on the left side. It is a 12 volt battery, rated at 19 amp hours, and 280 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) as rated by the factory.

The Xtreme Volts XTX20L-BS is a factory sealed absorbed glass mat (AGM), maintenance free (MF), valve regulated lead acid battery (VRLA).  What does this means to the battery user? First, factory sealed means the battery comes with the acid already installed. The battery is permanently sealed, so there is no acid to handle.  Next, AGM construction incorporates glass mating packed between the plates.  As acid is added to the battery the acid absorbs into the glass matting.  This eliminates free floating acid in the battery, and eliminates the chance of acid leaking from the battery even when the battery case is damaged.  The glass mat also acts as a dampener, or cushion against shock and vibration, making this battery well suited for motorcycle, snowmobile, and ATV applications.  Third, it is maintenance free (MF).  There is no need to check or maintain fluid levels in the battery.  Finally, a valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) battery does not have a vent tube.  Vapors produced by the battery are re-circulated back into the battery.  This reduces corrosion around the battery, while also eliminating the venting of hazardous hydrogen gas under normal operating and charging conditions.  In addition, the absence of a vent tube means no acid leaking from the battery. 

XTX20L-BS as a High Performance Upgrade for the YB16CL-B

The Xtreme Volts XTX20L-BS is a sealed maintenance free alternative to the Yuasa YB16CL-B, YB16L-B, AN YB18L-A battery supplied with your personal Watercraft (PWC), vehicle or generator.   The XTX20L-BS eliminates the the possibility of the battery acid leaking, or dangerous hydrogen gasventing into the hull of your PWC. The XTX20L-BS measures 6.875" wide x 3.4375" deep x 6.125" high.  The YB16CL-B measures 6.875" wide x 4" deep x 6.875" high. Slight modification to the battery hold down may be necessary. When viewing the battery with the terminals on the side of the battery closest to you the positive terminal is on the right and negative on the left side for both models. Both are rated at 19 amp hours. However, the XTX20L-BS is rated at about 5% more Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) as rated by the factory.

XB14L-A2 Sealed AGM MF Battery

Xtreme Volts XB14L-A2 is a direct replacement for the Yuasa YB14L-A1, YB14L-A2, YB14L-B2, and 12N14-3A batteries supplied with your vehicle.  The XB14L-A2 measures 5.3125" wide x 3.5" deep x 6.5" high.  When viewing the battery with the terminals on the side of the battery closest to you the positive terminal is on the right side, negative on the left. It is a 12 volt battery, rated at 14 amp hours, and 210 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) as rated by the factory.

High Performance Upgrade For YB14L-A1, YB14L-A2, and 12N14-3A Battery Applications

Numbers and letters after the "-" in each part number designates the vent tube location. The original factory supplied YB14L-A1, YB14L-A2, YB14L-B2, and 12N14-3A batteries utilize flooded cell type construction and incorporate a vent tube.  Because the Xtreme Volts XB14L-A2 is a sealed maintenance free battery with no vent tube it may be used as direct replacement for battery applications with the YB14L- prefix.  Battery dimensions and terminal layouts for the XB14L-A2, YB14L-A1, YB14L-A2, YB14L-B2 and 12N14-3A models are the same.  

Drawbacks to the standard flooded cell YB14L- Series and 12N14-3A Batteries

The original factory supplied YB14L- Series and 12N14-3A batteries utilize a flooded cell type construction and incorporates a vent tube.  In sports bike applications the battery does not spend a lot of time in a vertical position.  Because the conventional flooded cell battery has a vent tube, the battery being at anything other than vertical may result in acid leaking from from the battery through the vent tube, and usually onto expensive bike parts.

Solve the problem of leaking battery acid damaging your bike –

The Xtreme Volts version of the XB14L-A2 battery is produced using the newer AGM style construction, which is much better suited for spots bike applications.  The Xtreme Volts version of the XB14L-A2 is constructed as a true factory sealed absorbed glass mat (AGM), maintenance free (MF), valve regulated lead acid battery (VRLA).   What does this means to the battery user? First, factory sealed means the battery comes with the acid already installed.
